How to Get Relief for Your Chronic Back Pain?

If you are one of those people who experience back pains, like Michael Jackson, I say to you, “You Are Not Alone.” I too have had my own share of minor and major back pains and I feel for you. In my case, I attribute my discomfort to stress and to my scoliosis. Aside from my painful break-ups, this has been another constant thing in my life. My answer to this problem was to take pain relievers which allowed me to go about my daily activities. Advil and I had become best friends.

If you are one of those estimated 90% (according to Men’s Health Magazine) who experience back pain, welcome to the club. Chronic Back Pain can be so serious that surgery is recommended and yet sometimes surgery might not even bring relief. This is because some cases of Chronic Back Pain are irreversible even with surgery.  The bottom line is, whatever type of pain you are currently experiencing can be minimized with some tried and tested methods which I will impart to you. Yes, to you, because I want you to feel rejuvenated and alive without taking too many painkillers which can kill you if you OD. That is what my friends told me… “Do you want to die like Heath Ledger who became addicted to prescription drugs?” of course I said No…then asked, “Who is Heath Ledger?”

With regards to your aches and pains, a tried and tested method would be exercising and doing some stretching which made me stronger and helped increase my muscle strength. I suggest you use your back muscles as well, but to do this slowly and carefully. This is because your muscle’s strength and health will allow your entire body to be better equipped to reduce your back pain. Another good way to relieve back pain would be a massage because it helps relax the muscles which in turn alleviates the pain and improves the blood circulation.

You may also want to try out heat therapy which is an effective treatment in relieving muscle aches and pain. You simply have to apply heat to the affected body part and it should help treat the pain. Due to the technological advancement of today’s modern world, heat therapy products have been made to fit the needs of an individual.

As such, I have discovered this product called a Back Wrap which was given as a gift to my grandma, and surprisingly, she bought one for me as well. At first, I felt weird sitting beside her while she had her Back Wrap on and insisted that I wear mine too and that it would be “our thing” – meaning wearing it together. Well, I have to admit, after the initial awkwardness, I felt an instant relief. It helped relieve my back pains and eventually, I discovered that I could also use this to soothe my abdominal cramps – by simply turning the Back Wrap around.

So there you have, ways that can help you alleviate back pain; you may take Advil or other pain relievers, exercise and do some stretching, choose a relaxing spa treatment or simply use a heat therapy product such as Back Wrap which my grandma would definitely vote for.
