The Difference between Parents and Their Children

A young man heard their parents said “you would know when you become parents”, and they didn’t understand about this sentence.

One morning, parents asked him to plough with them. But, the young thought it’s too tired. So he said he had to do something and he went out. On his way, he met a wise man. Then he asked the wise man: “why my parents keep saying the sentence ’I would know if I become a parent’? Now, what’s the difference between my parents and me?”

The wise man said: “I have a magic mirror and it can tell you the answer.”

The young man walked to the front of the mirror. He saw there were dark clouds in the sky and it was going to be a hard rain. The young man saw himself in the mirror, who said with anxiety: “Oh, no. I don’t bring an umbrella. What should I do?”

The young said to the wise man: “This mirror doesn’t tell me the answer.”

The wise man smiled, and said to the young man: “Take your time. Look at it again.”

This time, the young man saw his parents walked quickly in the hard rain. His mother said anxiously to his father when they walked: “Our child doesn’t bring an umbrella with him when he go out. I hope he is not getting wet.” His father answered anxiously: “Not to fall ill.”

The wise man said to the young man in all earnestness: “Parents are always thinking about their children. However, children are always thinking about themselves. This is the difference between parents and children.”
