Yemen suicide bombing attacked the British Ambassador.

On April 26th, a fleet of British Embassy in Yemen was attacked by a suicide bombing in the capital Sana'a, Yemen. Although the ambassador was in the car at that time of the incident, fortunately the explosion only killed one person who was an attacker. Then the British Embassy in Yemen was shut down.

Reuters reported that the British Ambassador in Yemen, Timothy Achilli was on his way back to the Embassy with his fleet on that day. The place where the suicide bomb attacking took place was only 600 meters away from the British embassy.

France-Press Agency quoted the words of witnesses and reported the explosion was conducted by a suicide bomber. But fortunately the implementation of the detonation timing was wrong, so the attacker missed the ambassador's vehicle, killing himself on the spot as the result.

France-Press Agency also reported that two bystanders were slightly injured and a police car partially damaged in the explosion when escorting the ambassador.

The spokesman for the British Embassy in Yemen stated:" We are working closely with the Yemeni authorities to investigate the incident. And no British or embassy suffer casualties." Yemeni authorities have sealed off the spot of the accident and carried out investigation.

British Foreign Ministry made a statement after the explosion that the British Embassy in Yemen had been shut down at the moment. And they suggested the British in Yemen "keeping a low profile" and raise vigilance. Right now no terroristic organizations “adopt" the explosion.

It is believed that the Arabian Peninsula branch of "base" organization hiding in Yemen previously repeatedly declared that they would attack western interests in Yemen.

Besides, a Nigeria Youth, Abdul Talab, tried to blow up a Northwest Airlines passenger plane on Christmas in 2009 but failed. The Arabian Peninsula branch of "base" organization claimed that it was their organization which planned the attack. Since then, in January this year, the United States and Britain have had to turn off Embassy in Yemen for a short term in case of security.
